2016 People’s Choice Award Winners

'Scream Queens' and 'Supergirl' Named Favorite New TV Comedy and Drama

In what always signals the beginning of awards season, “The 2016 People’s Choice Awards” on CBS last night, hosted by Jane Lynch, resulted in “The Big Bang Theory” and “Grey’s Anatomy” being cited as Favorite Network TV Comedy and Drama. Jim Parsons, Melissa McCarthy, Taylor Kinney and Ellen Pompeo won in the network acting categories, while “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Pretty Little Liars” were honored on cable and “Homeland” as Favorite Premium Cable TV Show. John Stamos and Priyanka Chopra, meanwhile, were singled out as Favorite Actor and Actress in a New TV Series. And the Favorite New TV Series were “Scream Queens” and “Supergirl.”

“The People’s Choice Awards” also honors movies and music, and the compete listing of winners is as follows:
