2017-18 Men’s College Basketball Week 11 TV and Announcer Schedule

The Villanova Wildcats remained atop the Associated Press poll for the week of Jan. 15. They defeated Xavier and St. John’s in the previous week.

The Virginia Cavaliers move up to No. 2 which matches the team’s highest-ever ranking since the 2014-15 season. After wins over Syracuse and North Carolina State, Virginia has been designated as the nation’s current No. 1 team in defensive efficiency, according to the highly-referenced college basketball statistical website KenPom.com.

Up two spots to No. 3 are the Purdue Boilermakers, its highest ranking since reaching No. 3 in 2009-10. They extended its winning streak to 13 games with wins over Michigan and Minnesota.

No. 4 Oklahoma (its highest ranking since reaching No. 1 in 2015-16), No. 15 North Carolina and No. 17 Auburn had the biggest jumps in the poll, moving up five spots each.

Recent victories over Michigan State, Maryland and Rutgers propelled the Ohio State Buckeyes to finally be ranked in the Top 25 poll (at No. 22) for the first time since reaching No. 12 during the 2014-15 season. Their Big Ten rival Michigan Wolverines also appear in the poll for the first time this season at No. 23 after beating Michigan State on Jan. 13.
