ABC Cancels ‘Mistresses’

Four Seasons in Total Were Produced

ABC has opted against a fifth season of scripted summer drama “Mistresses.”  Based on a U.K. series of the same name, the now series-finale on Sept. 6 averaged only 2.57 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49.  By comparison, the show debuted in June 2013 to 4.4 million viewers and a 1.2 in the demo.

“Mistresses,” which produced 52 episodes in totally, initially followed the lives of entrepreneur and widowed mom April (Rochelle Aytes), married lawyer Savi (Aylussa Milano), high end real estate agent turned PR guru Joss (Jes Macallan) and psychiatrist turned writer Karen (Yunjin Kim). Milano departed after two seasons and Jennifer Esposito joined the cast for season three.

  1. First Devious Maids was cancelled after 4 seasons and now Mistresses. All the best to everyone who were involved with the shows.

  2. I, for one, am shocked!!!

    This show should have disappeared after three episodes based on ratings.

    Isn’t the whole point of renewing flops to feed the syndication arm?
