ABC Greenlights Singing Competition ‘Boy Band’

Ten Episodes Ordered

ABC has placed a 10-episode order to a new singing competition series for this summer called “Boy Band.” Produced by Matador Content (“Lip Sync Battle”), “Boy Band” will feature a live-voting system where viewers will vote on performances as they happen, rather than waiting until after the show to cast their ballots. A panel of judges, which will likely include band members past and present, will serve as mentors to the competitors.

The series order comes three years after ABC’s last attempt to launch a singing competition, “Rising Star,” which was canceled after one season. No host or talent has been announced yet.
