Ratings Breakdown:
ABC, of course, stood well above the competition last night with game five of the “NBA Finals” (Warriors: 129, Cavaliers: 120) at an estimated 15.3 rating/26 share in the household overnights from 8-11:30 p.m. ET. Comparably, this was nine percent above the 14.0/23 one year earlier. Once the final nationals are factored in, ABC is poised for its most-watched “NBA Finals” series since 1998.

Opposite “The NBA Finals” were three season premieres (“So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox, and “American Ninja Warrior” and “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” on NBC) and the series-premiere of reality/competition “Superhuman” on Fox. “So You Think You Can Dance” returned for season 14 with a 2.8/ 5 in the household overnights, which was on par from the year-ago season-opener, and that led into a 1.9/ 3 for the launch of “Superhuman.” Comparably, the “Superhuman” opener was 58 percent above the 1.2/ 2 for failed drama “Houdini” one year earlier.

NBC, in contrast, lost steam. The return of “American Ninja Warrior” scored a 3.4/ 6 from 8-10 p.m., which was 17 percent below the 4.1/ 7 on the year-ago evening. And “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” dipped by 31 percent year-to-year with a 2.0/ 3 at 10 p.m. Overnight retention for “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of “American Ninja Warrior” (3.2/ 5) was lacking at 59 percent.

Elsewhere, CBS populated this second Monday in June with encore telecasts of “Kevin Can Wait” (#4: 2.6/ 5), “Man with a Plan” ((#4: 2.5/ 4), “Mom” (#3: 2.9/ 5), “Life in Pieces” (#3: 2.5/ 4) and “Scorpion” (#2: 2.3/ 4). And The CW featured a repeat of “Supergirl” (#5: 0.8/ 1) and two episodes – original and repeat – of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” (#5: avg. 0.7/ 1 from 9-10 p.m.).
