Amazon Cancels Dark Comedy ‘Mad Dogs’

Hour-long dark comedy “Mad Dogs,” which was based on a British format and was produced by “The Shield’s” Shawn Ryan, will not be returning on Amazon for a second season. Headlined by Ben Chaplin, Michael Imperioli, Romany Malco and Steve Zahn, “Mad Dogs” centered on a group of fortysomething friends who travel to Belize for a celebration that quickly descends into a harrowing roller coaster of lies, deception and murder.

Although the original plan was a 10-episode limited series, there was an outline for a potential second season which Amazon passed on.
