2002 Surfer Movie Was a Surprise Breakout Hit

NBC has given a script commitment with penalty to a series based on 2002 surf movie “Blue Crush,” which starred Kate Bosworth, Michelle Rodriguez (“Lost”) and Sanoe Lake. The film focused on three friends who have one passion: living the ultimate dream of surfing on Hawaii’s famed North Shore.

The movie’s co-writer, Lizzy Weiss (“Switched at Birth”), is writing this TV version and will executive produce it alongside Brian Grazer.
