HBO Cancels Drama ‘Vinyl’

Cable Net Reverses Initial Decision for a Second Season

After announcing a second season renewal in February, HBO has reversed its decision and canceled 1970-set music business drama “Vinyl.” Executive produced by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger, and featuring Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Olivia Wilde and Juno Temple, “Vinyl” debuted on Feb. 14.

“After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of ‘Vinyl.’ Obviously, this was not an easy decision,” HBO said in a statement. “We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project.”

The now final episode of “Vinyl” aired on April 17. Ten episodes were produced in total.
