It’s Official: CMT Picks Up ‘Nashville’ for Season Five

Deal Includes Streaming on Hulu and Funding by the City of Nashville

Life continues after the broadcast networks. After a modestly rated four season run on ABC, CMT has officially stepped up to the plate and will revive critically acclaimed drama “Nashville” for season five. The deal included Hulu, which will stream the new episodes after running on CMT. And the deal includes funding from Metro, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. and Ryman Hospitality, to offset the costs. The state put $8 million in its budget and Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has proposed a $1.375 million fund for film incentives.

The entire cast is expected to return for the show, which will be under the direction of a new creative team. The number of new episodes has not been confirmed.
