UP Renews ‘Bringing Up Bates’ and ‘Growing Up McGhee’

New Episodes Will Debut in 2017

Family themed cable destination UP has renewed two docuseries: “Bringing Up Bates” for a fifth edition and freshman “Growing Up McGhee” for a second season. UP has ordered 13 episodes of “Bringing Up Bates” and 10 episodes of “Growing Up McGhee” to premiere next year.

Debuting on Jan. 1, 2015, “Bringing Up Bates” follows the lives of parents Kelly Jo and Gil and their 19 children — Zach, Michaella, Erin, Lawson, Nathan, Alyssa, Tori, Trace, Carlin, Josie, Katie, Jackson, Warden, Isaiah, Addallee, Ellie, Callie, Judson, and Jeb. And, a few of these kids have kids of their own. “Growing Up McGhee,” which launched on June 16 or this year and is a continuation of former OWN series “Six Little McGhees,” focuses on Ro and Mia McGhee and their sextuplets.

“Bringing Up Bates” and “Growing Up McGhee” truly speak to our audience with the perfect blend of heart and humor. They are brand-defining series that deliver on UP’s promise to bring viewers great stories about families of all shapes and sizes,” said Amy Winter, evp and general manager, UP. “These lovable families have welcomed viewers into their homes each week, and we are excited to continue the journey with them and experience all of the love, laughter, excitement and chaos in their ever-changing and highly entertaining lives.”

“Bringing Up Bates” and “Growing Up McGhee” are produced by Figure 8 Films, the reality television producers of such series as “Kate Plus 8” and “The Willis Family.”
