At 8:00 PM, THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in viewers (14.95m), A18-49 (3.7) and A25-54 (5.3), Thursday’s number one program in all these measures.

At 8:30 PM, LIFE IN PIECES was first in viewers (9.47m, up from 9.35m), A18-49 (2.1, nc) and A25-54 (3.1, up +3% from 3.0). LIFE IN PIECES delivered its largest audience since Dec. 17

  2. Feels like people are either watching less network TV than ever, OR they’re watching less LIVE tv than ever. I’m guessing it may be more of the latter and I’ll bet that ABC in particular will make up a lot of their lost audience in DVR numbers.

I think NBC’s issue is a weak 8PM show. Even if it grows via DVR numbers, it’ll still be awfully low. They need to bring in something else in that slot quickly.

Mom perked up with a hyped episode and 2BG did maybe a bit better than Angel from Hell, so that’s a positive.

  3. CBS down 47.5% vs SD 2015; ABC down 41.4% vs SD 2015; NBC down fractionally while FOX & The CW were up leaving Broadcast down 15.23% vs SD 2015 Thursday.

  4. ABC has indeed sprung a leak. Scandal put up huge numbers at 10PM and started off strong at 9PM. Now? Not so much and HTGAWM has gone along with it. I know a lot of folks swore off Scandal after what happened in the winter finale. I usually don’t put much stock in folks who say that but it looks like enough quit to damage the live ratings. I haven’t looked at the Live plus 7.

NBC is a disaster at 8PM per usual

    • Scandal never had huge numbers. ABC claimed it did and the press called it a huge hit, but it had barely solid numbers and if not for Oprah pulling its ratings back up at the end of the first season by hyping it, it would have slid much more.

Frankly, I think it’s HTGAWM that is dragging Scandal down, even as I never thought Scandal was a well-made show.

  5. The collapse of ABC’s All-Shonda-All-The-Time lineup is quite striking.

Not that Scandal or HTGAWM ever were big hits (Grey’s used to be) but still…

Incidentally, the continuing down-slide of HTGAWM was entirely predictable (and predicted on Marc’s side by none other than yours truly in spite of many voices claiming it was a hit that would last for years…)

Even with BBT helping CBS “win” the once mighty highest-rated-night-of-TV is now officially a disaster area.

Enter at your own peril as any of those shows’ ratings could collapse onto you… 🙁
