CBS’ Newbies ‘S.W.A.T.’ and ‘9JKL’ Receive Additional Episode Orders

Full Season Order for 'S.W.A.T.;' Three More Episodes for '9JKL'

CBS has greenlit freshman crime solver “S.W.A.T.,” a revival of the Aaron Spelling 1970s crime solver for the remainder of the season. “S.W.A.T.” joins “SEAL Team” as the second freshman Eye net drama renewed for the entire season. The network was not as optimistic with sitcom “9JKL,” which now airs in the Monday 9:30 p.m. half-hour out of “Superior Donuts.” But it is giving it more time with an order for three additional episodes, taking it to 16.

There is no word, meanwhile, on new Sunday 8 p.m. drama “Wisdom of the Crowd” starring Jeremy Piven.

  1. 9JKL has flopped. Why order more?!!!

It shows CBS has now internalized the bad practices of its competition and will likely join them in the race to ratings nothingness. 🙁
