The CW Developing Supernatural Crime Drama ‘Criminal Magic’

The CW has put into development “Criminal Magic,” a proposed hour-long Warner Bros. drama from Graham Norris, Rob Thomas, Danielle Stokdyk, and Dan Etheridge, the team behind “iZombie. “Criminal Magic, which is described as “The Departed” meets “The Vampire Diaries,” is set in present-day Los Angeles and revolves around two warring street gangs who fight the cops and each other to corner the market on the most lucrative contraband of all: magic. A young woman hiding spectacular magical powers and an undercover cop must try to survive this glamorous world of speakeasies, crime, and danger.

Rob Thomas (who is also working with The CW on proposed “The Lost Boys” series) will executive produce via his Spondoolie Productions alongside Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.
