Amazon Greenlights Horror Anthology Series ‘Lore’

Upcoming Drama Based on Podcast of the Same Name

Amazon announced at Comic Con in New York yesterday that it is moving forward on a horror anthology series called “Lore,” which is based on the podcast of the same name. Described as an “unscripted” series, the show will “present tales dealing with frightening, psychologically disturbing, and often paranormal true events that have spawned modern-day nightmares.”

“Lore” will be produced by Propagate Content and Valhalla Entertainment, with Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead”), Ben Silverman (“The Office”), Howard T. Owens (“The Biggest Loser”), Brett-Patrick Jenkins (“Face Off”) and Aaron Mahnke serving as executive producers. Glen Morgan (“X-Files”) is attached as showrunner and Phillip Kobylanski is supervising the project on behalf of Valhalla.

Launched in March last year, “Lore’s” look at true-life scary stories, the paranormal and the origins of vampires, zombies and the horror genre in general in podcast format has over 3.2 million monthly listens.
