Hulu Acquires Streaming Rights for ‘Curious George’

The Deal Includes All Nine Seasons, to-Date, of the Series

Hulu has secured the exclusive subscription streaming rights to classic kid’s property “Curious George,” underscoring the growing importance of non-adult programming in the digital world. The deal with Universal 1440 Entertainment, which begins on Thursday, March 31, will bring past and future seasons of “Curious George,” as well as television specials and feature-length original movies exclusively to Hulu. This includes nine seasons – and more than 100 episodes – of the series. All of the offerings will be available to stream in Hulu’s commercial-free Hulu Kids environment.

“’Curious George’ is one of the most beloved characters in kids’ programming and we are delighted to bring the TV series to Hulu,” Craig Erwich, Hulu’s content chief, said in a statement. “As we continue to add the best of premium television to our service, this partnership represents both an expansion and a commitment to our kids and family offering.”

Based on the books by Margret and H.A. Rey and geared to the preschool set, “Curious George” airs daily on PBS KIDS.
