‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Expected to Go into Production in 2018

Rumors of a Big Screen Version of the Crawley Clan Have Been Circulating for Years

Rumors of a theatrical continuation of PBS classic “Downton Abbey” are turning into reality. The series, which follows the lives of an aristocratic English family, ended its six season run on ITV in the U.K. in 2015 and PBS in the U.S. in 2016.

Julian Fellowes, who wrote the TV series, has been working on the script for the movie, which the producer of the show, Carnival Films, and its studio owner, NBCUniversal, hope to go into production in 2018. There is no word at present which actors will be returning.
