Ellen DeGeneres to Launch Digital Network

Six Original Shows at the Start

Ellen DeGeneres will launch The Ellen Digital Network, which will feature an initial production slate of six original shows. Social media star Tyler Oakley has signed a content development deal and will collaborate on a range of original digital projects with an aim toward developing projects for television as well.

The first batch of programs on The Ellen Digital Network will include an original “Damn, Daniel” series for Snapchat; an animated series featuring Ellen’s pets called “Ellen’s Pet Dish” from Warner Bros.’ digital production studio Blue Ribbon Content; the return of five-year-old viral sensation Brielle; new episodes of “Dance Challenge;” “#MadeByYou,” featuring the best user-generated content from ellentube; and and “Epic or Fail,” a popular game on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

DeGeneres started Ellentube in October 2014 as a digital hub for clips from her daytime talk show as well as user-generated content. Ellentube premiered its first original series last month, “tWitch & Allison’s Dance Challenge,” which stars Stephen Boss, the D.J. on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and his wife Allison Holker of “Dancing With the Stars,” as they mentor child dancers.
