Erinn Hayes Exits CBS’ ‘Kevin Can Wait’

Series is Said to Be Going in a Different Creative Direction

Erinn Hayes, who portrayed Kevin James’ wife Donna in season one of CBS sitcom “Kevin Can Wait,” will not be returning next season. The news came right after the network announced that Leah Remini, who guest-starred in the two-part season-ender last month as James’ former colleague Vanessa Cellucci, has been upgraded to a series regular.

There is no news at present how the writers will address Hayes’ absence or how Remini will be featured. The sitcom is said to be heading in a different creative direction.

  1. In my opinion, that is a shame. The interaction between the two of them was the best part of the show. I don’t know that I will watch it if it focuses on the ex-partner cop aspect.

  2. well that sucks. she was great and their chemistry worked. not sure i’ll continue watching if the family dynamic isn’t the focus.
