Food Network to Reboot ‘Iron Chef America’

New Series, 'Iron Chef Gauntlet,' Targeted to Launch This Spring

Food Network will revive “Iron Chef America” with Alton Brown as “Iron Chef Gauntlet,” with a debut date targeted to second quarter 2017. In the original series, which was based on the Japanese “Iron Chef” concept and debuted in 2005, two competitors — one an “Iron Chef,” the other a challenger — vied to see which could make the best dishes from a mystery ingredient. “Gauntlet” will “take its cues from the original along with some new twists and turns.”

“Iron Chef Gauntlet” is being produced by Triage Entertainment in conjunction with Food Network. Pre-production is currently underway.
