Former Vice President Joe Biden Offers Words of Comfort to Emotional Meghan McCain on ‘The View’

Joe Biden, the former U.S. Vice President, was a guest on the Dec. 13 edition of ABC’s daytime talk show “The View” to discuss his new book “Promise Me, Dad” about his late son Beau Biden. Co-host Meghan McCain began to choke up with tears during the discussion as she referred to her father, John McCain — the six-term U.S. Senator from Arizona and former presidential candidate — and his battle with the brain cancer named glioblastoma. It’s the same disease that claimed Beau’s life.

Joe Biden went over to sit next to Miss McCain and offered hope that current advances in science can ultimately defeat all types of cancer. He had also shared fond memories of her father and how much he had meant to his late son Beau.
