Freeform Renews ‘Shadowhunters’ for Season Two

Freeform has announced a second season pick-up of drama “Shadowhunters,” with an unconfirmed number of new episodes for the new season. Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series “The Mortal Instruments” by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara), who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. Now thrown into the world of demon hunting after her mother is kidnapped, Clary must rely on the mysterious Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and his fellow Shadowhunters Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) and Alec (Matthew Daddario) to navigate this new dark world.

The first season finale of “Shadowhunters” is slated for Tuesday, April 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
