Friday Final Ratings: PyeongChang Olympics on NBC, NBCSN and Streaming Off 6 Percent from Comparable Night of Sochi Games

The final Friday of NBC Olympics’ primetime coverage from PyeongChang, South Korea delivered a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) average of 14 million viewers, according to data by Nielsen, and digital data from Adobe Analytics — down 6 percent from the final Friday of the 2014 Winter Olympics from Sochi, Russia (14.9 million).

  2. In this day & age, NBC must be pretty happy with the Olympics ratings. I think it dropped about 8% overall from Sochi.

    • I agree these are some good numbers for NBC and I think they’re happy with them especially when you see how far regular programming is from the Olympics these days. The only time I think NBC wouldn’t had been happy with the Olympic numbers was back in 2006 when they were very close to regular programming and losing to Idol head-to-head.

      The 8% decline from Sochi is way better than expected as well so for me these games were a success for NBC and this might be good news going forward as the television ratings get smaller and smaller for the next few editions until they get to 2028 for Los Angeles which might be the only games in the next decade which will go up from the previous editions.
