SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2017

Household Rating/Share
CBS: 13.9/23, ABC: 2.6/ 4, NBC: 2.0/ 3, Fox: 1.0/.2

Note: Comparisons to the year-ago evening are excluded because “The Grammys” aired on a Monday.

Ratings Breakdown:
It was all about “The 59th Annual Grammy Awards,” hosted by James Corden, on CBS, with the live musical extravaganza averaging an estimated 16.0 rating/26 share in the household overnights from 8-11:45 p.m. ET. Results for any live event, of course, are always estimated. Comparably, this was almost identical to the 16.1/25 in the overnights for the year-ago telecast on CBS on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, which translated into 24.95 million viewers and a 7.7 rating/24 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data from Nielsen. That almost 25-million viewer tally last year was the smallest audience for “The Grammys” since 2009.

Stay tuned for updates on the “Grammy” ratings throughout the day.

Elsewhere, only Fox countered with originals and that was for its 8-10 p.m. animated combination of “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.5/ 2), “Son of Zorn” (#4: 1.0/ 1), “Family Guy” (#4: 1.3/ 2) and “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.1/ 2). ABC and NBC ducked “The Grammys” with encore telecasts of theatricals “The Blind Side” (2.4/ 4) and “The Fast & the Furious 6” (1.5/ 2) from 8-11 p.m.
