‘House of Cards’ Renewed By Netflix for Season Five

Thirteen New Episodes Are Expected for Season Five

Netflix has issued a fifth season pick-up to political drama “House of Cards,” starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, which comes six weeks before season four is available for streaming on Monday, March 4. But series creator and showrunner Beau Willimon, who has decided to pursue other options, will not be returning. Adapted from BBC’s mini-series of the same name and based on the novel by Michael Dobbs, the entire first season of “House of Cards” (comprising thirteen episodes) premiered on Netflix on Feb. 1, 2013 and is considered the first original scripted series that put the streaming service on the map with original and quality programming.

Thirteen new episodes are expected for this fifth season of “House of Cards,” which will bring the total tally to 65.
