Jamie Horowitz Ousted from Fox Sports

Fox Sports released a statement on Monday, July 3 that its president of national networks and head of programming, marketing and scheduling, Jamie Horowitz, will be relieved of his duties effective immediately. Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks will serve as Horowitz’s interim replacement.

Fox Sports indicated that its employees “should act with respect and adhere to professional conduct at all times.” The Los Angeles Times reported the company probed into sexual harassment allegations in the workplace with several females accusing Horowitz of misconduct, The Hollywood Reporter stated Horowitz has hired noted attorney Patty Glaser to defend him in this matter.

Horowitz, who developed the popular then-ESPN2 daily talk show “First Take”, landed at Fox Sports in May 2015 to help revamp their recently-launched FS1 cable network. The outlet turned to focus more on embrace-debate programs, such as “Undisputed” (with former “First Take” co-host Skip Bayless) and “Speak for Yourself.” As a result of this direction, Fox Sports let go of its original FS1 anchors Dan O’Toole and Jay Onrait, as well as its entire news staff and, as recently as late June, its digital columnists.

Prior to Fox Sports, Horowitz was hired by NBC News in 2014 to oversee “The Today Show” but was abruptly fired after a mere ten weeks on the job due to the alleged numerous conflicts with staff.
