Meredith Vieira to Host Game Show Test ’25 Words or Less’

Half Hour to Be Tested on Nine Fox Stations for Three Weeks

Former “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” host Meredith Vieira is returning to the game show hosting chair in “25 Words or Less,” which will be tested in a three week window on nine Fox Television stations beginning on Monday, August 6. “25 Words or Less,” based on the board game created by Bruce Sterten pits two teams comprised of celebrities and civilians against each other in a fast-paced word game with a top prize of $10,000. In the beginning rounds of the game, after a frenzied bidding session, one team member provides clues to two partners to help them guess a list of five words using fewer than 25 clue words. In the final round, the contestant who has earned the most points has 60 seconds to get his partners to guess 10 words using only 25 words or less.

The participating Fox stations are in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando, and Charlotte, N.C. If “25 Words or Less” generates interest, it could be taken out nationally in 2019.

The game show comes from Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky, Mary McCormack, Michael Morris and Bruce Sterten/ John Quinn, who serves as showrunner.
