Michael Strahan to Depart from ‘Live with Kelly and Michael’

Strahan Upped to Full-Time Co-Anchor on 'Good Morning America'

Michael Strahan will exit veteran Disney/ABC daytime talker “Live with Kelly and Michael” at the end of the season to join ABC’s “Good Morning America” on a full-time basis. Now a special correspondent on “GMA,” he will appear on the morning magazine as a full-time co-anchor.

Since 2014, Strahan has appearing on “GMA” twice a week while co-hosting “Live with Kelly and Michael.” As he takes on his new duties at “GMA,” he will end a four-year run on the first-run syndicated morning talk show.

In 2012 Strahan was chosen to co-host “Live” after a 10-month search for a replacement for Regis Philbin. ”Live,” which is expected to feature a roster of guest hosts opposite Kelly Ripa, will kick off the search for a new co-host when the new season begins in the fall.
