Monday Final Nationals: NBC and ESPN Split Victory

The final Monday night of the 2015-16 traditional season featured several season finales, two season premieres and, on cable, popular sports playoff action.

NBC took the crowns in total viewers (8.81 million) and adults 25-54 (2.6 rating/7 share) with the final performances of the season on “The Voice” and the inaugural season finale of “Blindspot.”

The Toronto Raptors’ 105-99 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers to even the “2016 NBA Eastern Conference Finals” at two games apiece helped put ESPN on top among adults 18-49 (approx. 2.2 rating) and adults 18-34 (approx. 2.0 rating).

Positive news also arrived for ESPN’s Disney partner ABC which was in the highly competitive prime mix when it aired the final dances of the season on “Dancing with the Stars” and the season premiere of “The Bachelorette” featuring JoJo Fletcher — the latter delivering multi-year highs among males 18-34 and females 18-34.
