Monday Overnights: Another Victory for the Home of ‘The Bachelorette’

ABC opened the week on a winning household overnight note, as usual, thanks to “The Bachelorette.” The perennial relationship/reality series scored a 4.0 rating/7 share from 8-10 p.m., which is impressive given the deteriorating pre-holiday HUT Levels.

Recent ABC entry “The Proposal,” also of that genre, dropped the ball at 10 p.m., however, with a second-place 2.4/ 5 in the household overnights. First in the time period was CBS’ older-skewing “Elementary” at a 2.9/ 5, which built from lead-in “Salvation” (#2: 2.1/ 4 at 9 p.m.) by 38 percent.

The only other original programming last night was “Running Wild With Bear Gyllis” on NBC (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 8 p.m.) and The CW’s combination of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” (#5: 1.0/ 2 from 8-9 p.m.) and the 9 p.m. half-hour edition of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” (#5: 0.8/ 1).
