Ratings Breakdown:
Led by “The Bachelorette,” ABC topped this third Monday in July with a 20 percent advantage in the household overnights over second-place NBC. “The Bachelorette” scored a 4.6 rating/8 share opposite a 3.6/ 6 for NBC’s competing “American Ninja Warrior,” which was a decline of 12 percent year-to-year. But NBC will certainly narrow the gap in the key young adult demographics.

Also original last night was Fox’s failing “Superhuman,” which at a mere 1.3/ 2 in the 9 p.m. hour dipped by 38 percent from lead-in “So You Think You Can Dance” (2.1/ 4 from 8-9 p.m. p.m.). A 9 p.m. edition of The CW’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?” scored a typical 0.7/ 1 in the household overnights. And “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” on NBC finished second in the 10 p.m. hour with a 2.1/ 4.
