Ratings Breakdown:
It was all about ABC last night, which completed another successful summer run of “The Bachelorette” at a 5.3 rating/9 share in the household overnights from 8-11 p.m. ET. That should translate in the vicinity of a 2-rating in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data.

In week two news, CBS newsmagazine “CBSN: On Assignment” sunk to a deadly 1.7/ 3 (#3) in the 10 p.m. hour, which was 15 percent below its already stalled-at-the-gate 2.0/ 4 debut one week earlier. Also lacking was NBC’s competing “Midnight, Texas” at a 1.9/ 3, which is one of the many examples of a new scripted drama not working this summer.

Elsewhere, two more hours of Fox’s perennial “So You Think You Can Dance” clocked in at a typically modest 2.1/ 4 in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. Competing “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC scored a 3.8/ 6, which will not likely to be enough to best “The Bachelorette” season-ender in the young adult demos. And recent CW docuseries entry “Hooten & the Lady” scored a typical 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m. The remainder of the evening was all repeats.
