Household Rating/Share
ABC: 4.6/ 8, NBC: 4.2/ 7, CBS: 3.3/ 6, Fox: 2.8/ 5, CW: 0.9/ 1

-Percent Change from the Year-Ago Week:
Fox: +27, ABC: -15, NBC: -16, CW: -18, CBS: -20

-Ratings Breakdown:
There were two series finales last night – “Lucifer” on Fox and “Superior Donuts” on CBS and they both earned their walking papers. Drama “Lucifer” concluded its two-season run at a 2.4 rating/4 share in the household overnights from 8-9 p.m., which finished a typically distant No. 4 in the hour. Next fall on Fox, “The Resident” moves to Monday at 8 p.m. into relocated “9-1-1.”

“Superior Donuts,” also ending after two seasons, scored a 3.1/ 5 (#3) in the 9 p.m. half-hour out of a 3.6/ 6 for just renewed “Man with a Plan” (#3: 3.6/ 6 at 8:30 p.m.). CBS featured encore telecasts of “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. (#3: 4.1/ 7) and 9:30 p.m. (#4: 2.9/ 5).

“The Resident” on Fox rose to a 3.1/ 5 from 9-10 p.m., which was 29 percent above lead-in “Lucifer.”

“Dancing With the Stars” on ABC topped the night, with a 5.6/ 9 from 8-10 p.m. But competing “The Voice” on NBC (5.4/ 9) will hold a considerable advantage in adults 18-49 (and all key demos). And this abbreviated athletes-themed edition slipped by 21 percent from the 7.1/12 on the year-ago evening. Note to ABC: Go back to basics next fall with “Dancing With the Stars” with a wide array of competitors from different fields and a full edition.

Airing out of “Dancing With the Stars” was canceled drama “The Crossing” at a modest 2.6/ 4, which trailed competing (and renewed) “Elementary” on CBS (3.1/ 5) by 16 percent. Third in the Monday 10 p.m. hour was NBC reality series “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” at a mere 1.9/ 3.

The CW capped off the night at typical household overnight levels with its pairing of “Supergirl” (#5: 1.2/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and “iZombie” (#5: 0.5/ 1).

  1. Yep, CBS’s Monday schedule was a mess this year.

I’m predicting Damon Wayans Jr’s show will lead Mondays this fall followed by Man With a Plan. Murphy Brown will return to its old Monday 9pm slot and Mom will take the 930pm spot. FBI will fill the 10pm spot.

After Murphy Brown completes its 13 episode run, Mom will move to 9pm followed by Fam at 930pm.

I think Welcome to the Neighborhood will take a Thursday spot either replacing Mom or following Life in Pieces if CBS decides to put its single cams, Young Sheldon and LiP, back to back.
