Monday Overnights: Respectable Return for ‘The Bachelorette’ on ABC

Game one of the Stanley Cup Final, Washington Capitals at Vegas Golden Knights, led NBC to victory on this first Monday of the summer 2018 television season. Keeping in mind that all live events are approximate, this game one match-up averaged a 3.7 rating/7 share in households in primetime . The game ran until 11:12 p.m. ET.

In season-premiere news, ABC’s perennial “The Bachelorette” returned with a dominant 4.0/ 7 in the 8-10 p.m. ET block, which is what you would refer to as typical. And it led into a mere 1.9/ 3 (#3) for drama “The Crossing” at 10 p.m., which earned its cancellation stripes.

In season-finale news was The CW’s “iZombie,” which scored a 0.6/ 1 (#5) at 9 p.m. out of 1 1.1/ 2 for “Supergirl” at 8 p.m. :iZombie,” which returns in midseason, will conclude in 2019. And “Supergirl” shifts to Sunday at 8 p.m. into the reboot of “Charmed.”

On Fox, the remaining two episodes of canceled sophomore drama “Lucifer” averaged a 1.8/ 3 from 8-10 p.m.

Also original last night was CBS crime solver “Elementary” at a typically lackluster 2.8/ 5 in the household overnights from 10-11 p.m. The rest of the evening was all repeats.
