ABC daytime drama “General Hospital” filmed its 7,000th episode in 1990. It is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running American soap opera in production…Dramatic anthology “Undressed” debuted on MTV in 1999. It aired for three seasons…Dating/relationship series “3,” which was canceled after two episodes, opened on CBS in 2012…E! docuseries “I Am Cait” premiered in 2015. It chronicled the life of Caitlyn Jenner after her gender transition from being Bruce Jenner. Sixteen episodes were produced across two shortened seasons…The revival of sketch comedy series “Mad TV” premiered on The CW in 2016. While the original version ran for 14 seasons on Fox (opposite NBC’s “SNL”) from 1995-2909, the more recent edition only produced eight episodes…Nickelodeon’s animated “The Fairly OddParents” concluded its original 10-season run in 2017. Spun-off from late 90’s showcase “Oh Yeah! Cartoons”, a live-action sequel series is in development for Paramount+…Two notable series concluded in 2018: syndicated talk show “The Jerry Springer Show” after 27 seasons of original episodes; and county music drama “Nashville” on CMT. “Nashville” aired for six seasons — the initial four on ABC and two additional seasons on CMT…Superhero comedy-drama “The Boys” debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”) developed the series based on the comic book of the same name about a group of vigilantes combating superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities. It stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford and Elisabeth Shue. “The Boys” has so far produced 16 episodes over two condensed seasons and is currently nominated for five Emmy Awards (including for Outstanding Drama Series).
