Netflix Renews ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ for Season Three

Renewal Comes Before Second Season, which Will Be Available for Streaming in April

Netflix comedy “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” which was originally supposed to air on NBC for 13-episodes in the spring of 2015, has been picked-up by Netflix for a third season. “Kimmy Schmidt,” starring Ellie Kemper from “The Office,” moved to Netflix with an immediate two season order and the season three pick-up comes ahead of the second season, which will be available for streaming in April.

The series follows 29-year-old Kimmy Schmidt (Kemper) as she adjusts to life in New York City after her rescue from a doomsday cult in Indiana where she and three other women were held by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm) for 15 years.
