‘Charmed’ Revival in Development on The CW

The CW is developing a reboot of former Aaron Spelling fantasy drama “Charmed,” which aired on The WB from 1998 to 2006. The proposed series, which takes place in 1976, comes from “Jane the Virgin” creator Jennie Urman, who will write the script with Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin.

The original series starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Shannen Doherty as siblings Phoebe, Piper and Prudence (“Pru”), who happened to also be witches with unique powers. Rose McGowan replaced Doherty effective in 2001 as half-sister Paige.

This new version of “Charmed” will focus on the characters of Tina, Paige and Annie.
