Fox Renews ‘Empire’ and ‘Scream Queens;’ ‘Prison Break’ to Return

Pilot for a New Edition of '24' Also Ordered

Fox has given an early vote of confidence to dramas “Empire” and “Scream Queens.” “Empire” will head into season three in 2016-17 and “Scream Queens,” which proves the importance of social media and VOD, season two.

Fox, in addition, is reviving 2005-09 scripted drama “Prison Break,” reuniting series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic West as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. The original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring (“Zero Hour”), Neal Moritz (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise), Marty Adelstein (“Aquarius”) and Dawn Olmstead (“The Whispers”) will return.

And the network has ordered the pilot “24: Legacy,” a potential new series installment of the “24” franchise. The pilot will feature an all-new cast of characters, with each episode still representing one hour of an eventful day. Howard Gordon, Brian Grazer, Manny Coto, Evan Katz and Kiefer Sutherland are the executive producers.
