Jason Aldean Makes Surprise Appearance to Open ‘Saturday Night Live’

Country music star Jason Aldean appeared at the pre-monologue start of the Oct. 7 edition of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” to address the mass shooting at the country music festival concert in Las Vegas on Oct. 1. Aldean had been on stage performing when tragedy had struck the crowd.

Aldean stated, “…when America is at its best, our bond and our spirit, it’s unbreakable.”

Aldean then performed the classic rock song “I Won’t Back Down” originally by the late Tom Petty. The rock legend Petty passed away on Oct. 2 at the age of 66.
