NBC Greenlights Neil Patrick Harris Game Show ‘Genius Junior’

No Official Start Date Announced

NBC has ordered “Genius Junior,” a new game show that celebrates the brightest children in America, hosted and executive produced by Neil Patrick Harris. The show will pit teams of three smart kids against each other, each hoping to earn the “Genius Junior Grant,” plus the national attention of the country’s best, most innovative, and meanest playground bullies.

The announcement of the new series comes one season after Harris hosted the live variety show “Best Time Ever” on NBC, which was canceled after one half season.

“Tackling incredibly tough and fast-paced challenges, these amazing child prodigies will leave us entertained and awestruck,” said Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group for NBC Entertainment. “We are thrilled to have Neil as our host. His quick wit and charm are perfectly suited to keep up with the unpredictability that is sure to ensue.”

“Genius Junior” is produced by Shed Media. Harris, Pam Healey, John Hesling, Phil Parsons and Ed Egan serve as executive producers. There is no confirmed start date at present.
