Record Ratings for Both late Night Talkers, but Will the Added Audience Help on a Regular Basis?

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” out of Super Bowl 50 on CBS Sunday delivered 21.12 million viewers from 10:54 p.m. -12:02 a.m. based on the fast national data, which was the late night talk franchise’s biggest audience since the show’s inception in 1995. “The Late Show” posted its largest audience with any host in the late night time period, best in adults 18-49 (7.9 million) and best in adults 18-34 (7.5 million) since August 30, 1993 (series premiere) and best in adults 25-54 (8.4 million) since February 25, 1994 (post-Olympics).

From 12:37-1:33 a.m., “The Late Late Show with James Corden” also rose to a series record with 4.97 million viewers, 2.0 million adults 25-54, 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 1.6 million adults 18-34.
