Ratings Breakdown:
ABC held a minor one-tenth of a household rating point advantage over NBC, with “The Bachelorette” topping the night at a 4.1 rating/7 share from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, however, “The Bachelorette” was down by a noticeable 23 percent from the 5.3/ 9 in the overnights on the year-ago evening. Current ABC 10 p.m. drama occupant “Still Star-Crossed” from Shonda Rhimes, meanwhile, was a bust at a distant third-place 1.2/ 2 at 10 p.m. One year earlier, “Mistresses” scored a 2.1/ 4 in this time period.

On NBC, “American Ninja Warrior” remains a valid summer option with a 3.4/ 6 in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., which will certainly exercise some muscle in the young adult demographics. But that, too, was down from the year-ago evening (3.9/ 7 on 6/20/16), with a loss of 13 percent. And it led into season two of reality/competition “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” at a second-place 2.3/ 4 at 10 p.m., which slipped by 32 percent from the 9:30 p.m. portion of “American Ninja Warrior” (3.4/ 6).

In week two news, “Superhuman” on Fox, hosted by Kal Penn, scored a consistent (albeit uneventful) 1.8/ 3 at 9 p.m., which was actually 50 percent above failed drama “Houdini” on the year-ago evening (1.2/ 2 on 6/20/16). Comparably, overnight retention for “Superhuman” out of “So You Think You Can Dance” (#4: 2.6/ 4 at 8 p.m.) was 69 percent.

Elsewhere, only the 9 p.m. edition of “Whose Line is it Anyway?” on The CW was an original telecast, and it scored a 0.7/ 1 (#5). A 9:30 p.m. encore telecast of “Whose Line” was equal at a 0.7/ 1, as was a repeat of “Supergirl” in the 8 p.m. hour.

CBS populated the this third Monday in June with repeats of “Kevin Can Wait” (#3: 2.9/ 5), “Man with a Plan” (#3: 2.7/ 5), “Mom” (#3: 3.0/ 5), “Life in Pieces” (#3: 2.5/ 4) and “Scorpion” (#1: 2.4/ 4).
