Top Five Grammy Moments From TiVo

What follows are the five top Grammy moments, according to TiVo, based on an aggregated, anonymous, second-by-second audience measurement data from approximately 30,000 anonymous households out of a daily sample of 350,000 subscribers to the TiVo service. TiVo Research gauges the interest in programming content by measuring the percentage of the TiVo audience watching in “play” speed. The most engaging moments are determined by looking for program content with the biggest bump in viewership relative to the surrounding 15 minutes of programming, offering a true reflection of change in viewership.

1. 8.24 p.m. Ariana Grande tries to introduce The Weeknd’s performance of “I Can’t Feel My Face” by asking the audience how the artist landed seven Grammy nominations? “Well, ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the pun of the century: he earned it.” When her comment was met with silence she vainly tried an acapela version of “Earned It.” 
2. 9:41 PM: After an introduction by Don Cheadle, Kendrick Lamar performs a medley of three tracks, including two from his acclaimed 2015 LP, “To Pimp a Butterfly.” Lamar began with “The Blacker the Berry” as a prisoner who breaks through his chains, then “Alright” backed by a group of African drummers and dancers. He finishes with a new song that ends with loud screaming.
3. 8:34 PM: After an introduction by Selena Gomez, Andra Day performed “Rise Up” and was then joined by Ellie Goulding for a duet of Goulding’s Oscar-nominated tune “Love Me Like You Do” from Fifty Shades of Grey. 
4. 8:55 p.m. Following a tribute to Lionel Richie, the MusiCares Person of the Year, Lionel is brought on stage by Luke Bryan and John Legend where he performs “All Night Long,” as the crowd rises to their feet in celebration.
