Ratings Breakdown:
It was another easy Tuesday overnight victory for CBS, which bested No. 2 NBC by 49 percent in households. But it was not a clean sweep. “This Is Us” on NBC scored a dominant 6.8 rating/11 share in the 9 p.m. hour, inching past CBS’ competing “Bull” (#2: 6.6/11) by three percent and building from the 8:30 p.m. portion of lead-in “The Wall” (3.8/ 6) by nine percent. “This Is Us” is a lock for the night in adults 18-49, which will only solidify NBC as the top-rated network in the demo.

Unfortunately, only two more original episodes remain for “This Is Us” in this first season.

Overall, the season-finale of “The Wall” scored a 3.6/ 6 in the household overnights at 8 p.m., which was 33 percent above year-ago occupant “Hollywood Game Night” (2.7/ 4 on 2/23/16). At 10 p.m. on NBC was “Chicago Fire” at a second-place 4.5/ 8, which is still poised for dominance in adults 18-49 in the hour despite trailing CBS’ competing “NCIS: New Orleans” (6.2/11) by 27 percent. Third at 10 p.m. was ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at a mere 1.5/ 3, which was on par with year-ago time period occupant “Marvel’s Agent Carter.”

No. 1 for the night was “NCIS” on CBS at a 9.1/15 in the household overnights at 8 p.m.

Over at ABC, recently renewed “The Middle” scored a typically respectable 4.1/ 7 (#2) in the 8 p.m. half-hour. But it was downhill from there, as usual, with the combination of “American Housewife” (#3: 3.3/ 5), “Fresh off the Boat” (#3: 2.3/ 4), “The Real O’Neals” (#4: 1.8/ 3) and aforementioned “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (#3: 1.5/ 3) from 8:30-11 p.m.

Elsewhere, Fox had no traction with its Tuesday line-up of sitcoms “New Girl” and just-renewed “The Mick,” each at a 1.7/ 3 from 8-9 p.m., and soon-to-conclude “Bones” (#4: 1.9/ 3). And The CW featured “Arrow” at a healthy 2.0/ 3 at 8 p.m., followed by “The 100” at a 1.1/ 2 at 9 p.m., which slid by 45 percent.
