“Big Brother” lifted CBS to Wednesday overnight victory, with a 4.2 rating/8 share in the household overnights from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, that was 11 percent above the comparable year-ago evening.

“Big Brother” led into back-to-back episodes of recently introduced Eye net drama “Salvation,” which at a 2.5/ 4 in the 9 p.m. hour and a 2.3/ 4 at 10 p.m. was consistent from the regularly scheduled 9 p.m. installment last week.

Elsewhere, only “The Carmichael Show” on NBC in the 9 p.m. half-hour (#2: 2.2/ 4) and Fox’s pairing of “MasterChef” (#3: 2.7/ 5) and “The F World with Gordon Ramsay” (#4: 1.2/ 2) were in originals.
