‘Young Sheldon’ on CBS Gets Full Season Order

Nine Additional Episodes Ordered

Just one episode in and CBS has granted “The Big Bang Theory” prequel “Young Sheldon” a full season episode order, with nine additional half-hours ordered in addition to the initial 13. Debuting out of “The Big Bang Theory” in the Monday 8:30 p.m. ET half-hour on sept. 25, “Young Sheldon” opened with 17.21 million viewers and a 3.8 rating in key adults 18-49, which is the highest rating for any new comedy since 2013. “Young Sheldon,” additionally held 93 percent and 95 percent, respectively, in total viewers and the demo out of the 11th season premiere of “Big Bang.”

“Young Sheldon,” featuring Iain Armitage as 9-year old Sheldon Cooper, will return with its second episode on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 p.m. out of its parent series.
