New WFAN Afternoon Radio Hosts Appear Together for the First Time

The three new hosts of New York sport radio WFAN coveted mid-afternoon slot — Chris Carlos, former NFL player Bart Scott and Sports Illustrated’s Maggie Gray — made their first joint appearance together on Nov. 15 on WFAN’s “The Morning Show with Boomer Esiason”. Their new program will debut in January, replacing Mike Francesa who had been with the station since 1989 but will retire from radio in December. Mike Francesa and Christopher Russo were hosts of the wildly popular “Mike and the Mad Dog” show from 1989 thru 2008 that ranked No. 1 in the afternoon drive in the New York market. Francesa has remained at No. 1 in the afternoon in each quarterly ratings book as a solo host since 2008.

Of the three hosts, Carlin is most known to WFAN listeners. He was a producer of “Mike and the Mad Dog” and was co-host of the SportsNet New York TV talk show “Loud Mouths”. He currently hosts a sports radio show in Philadelphia but will depart that to return to New York in January.
