Record Ratings for ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Ender

The Final Season of 'Game of Thrones' will air in 2018.

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” concluded its seventh season last Sunday with a combined 16.5 million viewers, which marks a new series high for the medieval fantasy drama. That number includes the 12.1 million viewers who watched the episode live and the additional 4.4 million viewers via streaming. Comparably, the 12.1 million viewers in linear consumption marked a hefty 36 percent increase over the season six finale, which drew 8.9 million viewers on June 26, 2016.

The upcoming eighth – and final – season of “Game of Thrones” will air in 2018.
