Scott Pelley Bids Farewell to the ‘CBS Evening News’

CBS News reporter and journalist Scott Pelley had some parting words to viewers at the conclusion of the June 16, 2017 edition of the “CBS Evening News.” It’s the last moment of Pelley’s six-year stint as its lead anchor. He will further focus on his work at the CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes.”

As previously noted here on May 31, longtime CBS News anchor Anthony Mason will take over of the lead anchor duties at the “CBS Evening News” starting Monday, June 19.

In his closing remarks, Pelley borrowed the famed line from legendary CBS News journalist the late Edward R. Murrow, “goodbye and good luck.”
