Ratings Breakdown:
As expected, it was a slam-dunk overnight victory for ABC on this first Sunday in June. Game two of “The NBA Finals” (Warriors 132, Cavaliers 113) averaged an estimated 12.0 rating/21 share in the household overnights in primetime. Comparably, that was five percent above the 11.4/19 on the year-ago evening, which translated into 17.49 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/21 in adults 18-49 (based on the Live + Same Day data).

In series-premiere news, “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” on NBC was a notable improvement over former time period occupant “Dateline,” with a third-place 4.3/ 8 in the household overnights from 7-8 p.m. One year earlier, “Dateline” scored a 2.8/ 5 (on 6/05/16). But “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” still trailed competing “60 Minutes” on CBS (#2: 5.1/ 9) by 16 percent.

The Megyn Kelly newsmagazine led into a 2.6/ 4 in the overnights for a three-hour edition of “American Ninja Warrior” from 8-11 p.m. Airing out of “60 Minutes” on CBS were encore telecasts of “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#2: 3.4/ 6), “Madam Secretary” (#2: 2.8/ 5) and “Code Black” (#3: 2.1/ 4) from 8-11 p.m.

Fox capped off the night with repeats of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 0.7/ 1), “The Last Man on Earth” (#4: 0.6/ 1), “The Simpsons” (#4: 0.9/ 2), “Family Guy” (#4: 0.9/ 2), and additional episodes of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 0.9/ 2) and “Family Guy” (#4: 1.1/ 2) from 7-10 p.m.
