Ratings Breakdown:
NBC, of course, is still the network to beat on Monday in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics) thanks to mainstay “The Voice.” But the return of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” episode No. 400, was still a force to reckon with at a dominant 8.3 rating/13 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. ET. Comparably, this was 19 percent above the 7.0/11 for competing “The Voice” and just six percent below the 8.8/14 in the household overnights on the year-ago evening (also the spring season premiere). That 8.8 rating translated into 12.46 million viewers and a 1.8 rating/6 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data (compared to 11.22 million viewers and a 2.8/ 9 in the demo for “The Voice,” which was on par year-to-year in the household overnights).

In other words, ABC can breathe a huge sigh of relief.

Despite the ample lead-in support, both “Taken” on NBC (#2: 3.2/ 6) and sophomore “Quantico” on ABC (#3: 2.4/ 5) at 10 p.m. lost considerable steam. Tops in the 10 p.m. hour was “Scorpion” on CBS at a 4.2/ 7.

CBS took a tumble opposite the battle of the ABC and NBC reality/competitions, with the 8-10 p.m. sitcom rotation – “Kevin Can Wait” (#3: 3.7/ 6), “Man With a Plan” (#3: 3.4/ 5), “Superiod Donuts” (#3: 3.3/ 5) and “2 Broke Girls” (#3: 3.0/ 5) – all at potential series lows.

Fox also stumbled, with both “24: Legacy” (#4: 2.4/ 4) and “APB” #4: 2.0/ 3) at series lows. Did anyone really think “24” would work without Kiefer Sutherland?

The CW capped off the evening with “Supergirl” at a 1.6/ 3 (#5), which more than tripled year-ago time period occupant “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” ().5/ 1), and “Jane the Virgin” (#5: 0.7/ 1), which, unfortunately, will never be more than just a critically acclaimed hit.
